Month: November 2017

Takeaway Tuesdays: Psalm 107:1

November 7, 2017October 13, 2018 ~ Sarah Elizabeth Joy ~ Leave a comment

I always think of November as a month to reflect on all that I am thankful for. Let’s give thanks especially to God, for His steadfast love that endures forever. Oh how I need this encouragement.

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!

Solomon Charles Dohman. Born 2301, 2019-02-11. 6.5lbs, 19”. Momma, Daddy, and baby doing well. Auntie Sare’s heart is bursting. 😍❤️
Said goodbye to our constant friend Dorie on Wednesday. She was our spicy and sweet mini doxie. She loved food, feathers, and her family. She saw our family through many formative moments: marriage, babies, nursing schools, residency, retirement. My family got her as a puppy and said goodbye poetically on her 11th birthday. I’m amazed at the grief I’m feeling in the loss of a pet. But in the same light, I’m amazed at the gift God gave me in a four-legged, snuggly, furry friend. Dorie was our quirky gal, and she’ll be forever in my family’s hearts. 🐶❤️ (01/30/08-01/30/19) God is good and kind to give us such companionship.
Happy 39th Anniversary to Marlin & Bertie (Mum & Pops)!! Love you both so very much and hope you have a nice day together. And thank you for coming to get me from PDX on your special day. 👰🏼🤵🏻🎉🥂
2018: My year of “hope”. Will write and reflect on it soon. What a year! Full of adventure and the goodness of God. I’m grateful for this past year, and looking forward to this upcoming year: 2019, my year of “now”. *** P.S. Y’all like when I travel, get my hair done, and hang out with friends and family. I agree, I love these moments as well. 😘😉
34! I said goodbye to my “Jesus year” last night and woke up to loving texts, FB messages, and birthday cards. This enneagram 2, whose title is “The Befriender”, felt the love today. I got heaps and heaps of kind words and wishes, filling my heart up to the brim and it’s now overflowing. One of my favorite parts of being 33 was learning not only who God says He is, but also who He’s uniquely created me to be. A lover of her people. A person who shows up. A gal who says yes. And if I’m honest, my birthday, being that it’s the day after Christmas, is always a date I nervously anticipate every year. Not because I’m fearful of getting older (It’s a privilege and fun!), but I’m always a little fearful that when it comes to my special day I might be forgotten, given my birthday is the day after Christmas. But time and time again, God shows up with His people. My dear people. Those whom He has hand-picked to celebrate alongside me. I’m not forgotten, but chosen. Again and again He shows up for me exactly how I need Him to. Thank you friends and family for a wonderful day. This little enneagram 2 heart is loved and ready to overflow with love for the next 364 days! ❤️🎉
Happy Christmas from the Dohman’s. A very small crew at the Hobbit House today, and ‘twas a beautiful day indeed. Celebrating the birth of Jesus, a house that’s close to normal (at least in the upper part), and doggies who love each other again. I’m so glad I can rest in the HOPE of Jesus. Or I might have felt very out-of-control this holiday season. Hoping your day was fun and filled with love. ❤️🎄
