Takeaway Tuesdays: Lamentations 2:19

The month of August is just about coming to a close. It’s been a pleasant month here in the valley in Oregon—not too many overly hot days. I’ve been enjoying the fun summer months.

Despite all the glorious attributes of summer, I still have many people in my life walking through seasons of suffering. Suffering doesn’t stop for summertime. Nearly every week I hear of my precious people walking through really, really hard seasons of life.

While most people probably skip over the book of Lamentations in the Bible, I am drawn to it. I want to mourn with those who are mourning, and rejoice with those who are rejoicing. You can walk hand-in-hand with both grief and joy if you know God.

This month’s free print comes from Lamentations, chapter 2, verse 19. It says to “Pour out your heart like water before the presence of the Lord!” Free flowing. Dump it all out. Don’t let one single drop of sadness, pain, or confusion be left friends. I love that imagery. If you need to pour out your heart to God, do it. Let Him have it. He can handle all of us. Always. He loves to hear from us.
